The Barbados Fire Service today completed a rescue mission at 2nd Avenue Goodland St Michael, pulling a 59-year-old man from a 20-foot deep well at his residence.
Divisional Commander Fernando McAllister and his 8-officer team had to deal with a 20-minute delay getting into the avenue with their fire tenders, before saving Maurice Greaves, who fell into the well just before 2 p.m.
Emergency Medical Technicians then put Greaves in an ambulance, taking him to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital just after 3 p.m. (BA)
