Maynard remanded on murder, firearm and theft charges

Karl Omar Maynard, 43, of Four Roads, St Philip, has been formally charged with multiple offences, including murder, following investigations conducted by the Barbados Police Service.

Maynard is accused of murdering Cameron Elcock on June 12, 2025, in the District “C” jurisdiction. He is also facing eight counts of endangering life and eleven counts of using a firearm in connection with that incident. In addition, he has been charged with violent disorder, possession of a firearm, and possession of five rounds of ammunition, both on June 27.

In a separate matter under the District “A” jurisdiction, Maynard has been charged with the theft of a motor car belonging to Akeem Millington on February 27, 2025.

He appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District “A” Criminal Court No. 1 on Wednesday, July 16, and was remanded to Dodds Prison.

Maynard is expected to return before the District “C” Magistrate’s Court on July 30.
