Mother, daughter among three charged in major drug, money laundering case

Three people, including a mother and daughter, have been charged in connection with a major drug and money laundering investigation carried out by the Barbados Police Service.

Abu Zarr Hans, 21, of Ocean View Road, Spooners Hill, St Michael; Lisa Cecelia Walcott, 55; and her daughter Destiny Alisa Miracle Greenidge, 19, both of 2nd Avenue, Welchman Hall, St Thomas, were arrested and jointly charged following investigations by the Narcotics Unit and the Financial Crimes Unit.

The charges stem from offences said to have been committed at a residence in Welchman Hall, St Thomas, where authorities reportedly uncovered 10.60 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of $530,000 Barbados dollars. The trio has been charged with trafficking with intent to supply, possession of cocaine, and importation of cocaine.

In addition to the drug-related charges, Hans and Greenidge were jointly charged with money laundering involving the sum of $36,667. Hans was also separately charged with another money laundering offence in the amount of $69,802.45.

The accused appeared before Magistrate Beckles in the District ‘D’ Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. They were not required to plead to the charges.

Bail was granted to both Hans and Greenidge in the sum of $150,000, while Walcott was granted bail in the amount of $100,000 with one surety. All three are scheduled to return to court on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
