For the second time in as many years, a jury has failed to reach a unanimous verdict in the murder trial of Terrell Patrick Griffith.
The 12 members were deadlocked after more than three hours of deliberating. Eight were for not guilty and four were for guilty.
Griffith, of Haynesville, St James, was on trial in the No. 5 Supreme Court, accused of murdering Dario Greaves on September 9, 2018.
He was represented by King’s Counsel Michael Lashley and attorney Sade Harris, while Acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Krystal Delaney and Senior State Counsel Kevin Forde prosecuted.
In May 2023, a 12-member jury also failed to come to a unanimous verdict on murder.
They were also unable to reach a majority verdict on manslaughter, with that panel split seven for not guilty and five for guilty. At least nine have to agree on a majority verdict. (HLE)
