Packed line-up for benefit concert Love Divine II

Love Divine is back! Coming off the successful staging in its inaugural event last year, the fund-raising concert is on again at Frank Collymore Hall on Sunday, October 20 at 6 p.m.

The event, which is staged to raise financial support for patients battling cancer, is produced by Trumpetboy Entertainment which specialises in music creation and managerial services. Husband-and-wife Kevin Moore and Kelita Moore operate the group.

The duo stages Love Divine II in honour of Sylvian Moore who was Kevin’s father and the organist at Selah Methodist church for 50 years and a former music teacher at Speightstown Boy’s School before he died from prostate cancer in 2020.

The concept of the event is to honour his legacy and give back to the community. All proceeds from the show go towards the Cancer Support Services. Last year the event gave the services over $14,000.

Kevin explained that staging the event was something extremely dear to his heart given what he experienced with his dad.

“Many in our community are not fortunate to have the financial or emotional support needed throughout the ordeal, that’s why we chose to put on this event in October – the month that focuses on cancer awareness.

“My dad was privileged that those around him could afford the care necessary to make his battle with cancer as comfortable and as bearable as possible. This is our way of helping others. The work of Cancer Support Services is essential as daily more people are being diagnosed with the deadly chronic disease,” Kevin said.

Again, this year’s concert is a 100% local talent. The event will feature a live band performing original arrangements of traditional hymns in a modern way. The show will feature artistes such as Mikey, James Leacock, John Yarde, Marlon LeGall Voice Project, Shem White, Mikel Gooding, Fiona John, Andre Woodvine, The Selah Methodist Church Choir and more.

“We want people to come out in their numbers and support this worthy cause as they enjoy some of the finest in Bajan entertainment. Trumpetboy has many of the best musicians on the scene in the group. Come out and experience talents and versatility as they reinterpret some traditional songs adding a modern flair to the arrangements. The entire line-up promises to create an emotive and inspiring Sunday vibe,” Kelita stated.

To enjoy this night of enthralling entertainment and to contribute to the worthy cause, $70 tickets for the event can be obtained by contacting Trumpetboy Entertainment at (235-8761 / 230-8396) or @trumpetboyentertainment on all social media platforms where a list of all box offices can be found.
