Party organisers make a splash with pool party

As the countdown to the grand finale of Barbados’ Crop Over Festival nears, partygoers are spoiled for choice when it comes to choosing the most vibrant events. One of the standout events, Splash, the all-inclusive pool party, combined celebration with charity this year, going all out to deliver a supreme experience.

While the sold-out crowd enjoyed a sublime blend of fine cuisine, premium drinks, and superb entertainment, the organisers also collected donations for victims of Hurricane Beryl, having already sent pallets of drinking water to the storm victims in the Grenadines.

Wanting to maintain a similar vibe to their original Beach House venue in St James, the pool party returned to the Copacabana Beach Club for the third year.

Tionne Hernandez hyped up Splash patrons with Starta Pack.

The mood was festive, with attendees dressed in vibrant summer wear for the casual chic soirée. Foodies were treated to five food stations featuring global gastronomical options, including delectable corn soup, New Orleans spicy prawn, and a selection of mouthwatering tacos. Vegetarians enjoyed sweet and sour tofu, green Thai vegetable curry, and varied fish prepared using different techniques.

“I enjoyed the food; the flavours were on point, and there was a variety of items to choose from. The drinks were premium brands and flowed endlessly to match the party vibe,” first-time attendee Makaela Waithe said.

Brucelee Almightee excited the audience with his song Tomorrow.

The event was topped off with live performances by Mikey, Sugahrhe, Hypa Dawg, Tionne Hernandez, Brucelee Almightee, and Just Jay, who teamed up with Leadpipe & Saddis. The audience got a tease of what they could expect from this year’s edition of Dis is Rick, with The Hypa Dawg drawing from his extensive collection of hits such as Bumpa Inspector and Hard Wine.

Selena McDonald, one of the event organisers, explained that patron satisfaction and the unending desire to improve every year were the driving forces behind their success.

Leadpipe and Saddis entertained the large crowd.

“Our patrons are seasoned party goers, and they know what a good time is, and this has been the guiding light of what we do. We put our patrons first and for the most part they are our friends, so we are even more invested to strive to ensure that those who have supported us for the last 10 (for the Beach House Breakfast Party) and 15 years for the pool party leave our events saying this was the best one ever,” McDonald said.
