Barbados will honour the brave men and women who lost their lives in World War I and World War II with the Remembrance Day Parade and inter-denominational service at the Cenotaph, National Heroes Square, The City, on Sunday, November 9.
The parade will begin at 8 a.m., and will be broadcast live on national television and radio. It will also be shown on large digital screens located at the old Treasury Building, Bridgetown; Golden Square, Probyn Street; and Republic Bank, Broad Street.
Several armed and unarmed uniformed groups will take part in the parade, including the Barbados Defence Force, The Barbados Police Service, the Barbados Legion, the Barbados Fire Service, the Barbados Prison Service, the Boy Scouts, and the Girl Guides.
Wreaths will be laid at the Cenotaph by President Dame Sandra Mason; Prime Minister Mia Mottley, Chief Justice The Most Honourable Leslie Haynes; members of the diplomatic corps; and other dignitaries.
Following the service, there will be an informal inspection of veterans and a marchpast by the uniformed groups. Members of the public are encouraged to attend and show their appreciation for those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
