Sada’s shot

Barbadian world-class athlete Sada Williams will be a major contender at the Paris Olympic Games but will have to dig deep and run a personal best in the women’s 400 metres if she is to secure a podium finish.

President of the Athletics Association of Barbados (AAB) Noel Lynch told Weekend Sport Williams could be a factor but will have to eclipse her lifetime best of 49.58 seconds to be among the medallists.

Lynch thinks that any time between 48.7 and 49.2 seconds will get the bronze medal at the Stade de France in two weeks time.

“I believe that Sada Williams has all the potential in the world to medal. The mere fact defending champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo will not be there strengthens her position.
