St Bartholomew Primary School students received a boost to their athletic programs on Monday when Amoy Gilding-Bourne, Vice President of the Democratic League of Women and former Democratic Labour Party candidate for Christ Church East, donated new netball and football equipment.
The donation included netballs, bibs, whistles, and skipping ropes, providing essential resources to support the school’s young athletes in training and competition.
Speaking to the students, Gilding-Bourne congratulated them for their commitment to sports and encouraged them to continue developing their skills both on the field and in the classroom.
“I am extremely proud of all of you! Congratulations!”, she said, further commenting that “The children from St Bartholomew’s Primary School did very well at NAPSAC this year. It is a noticeable improvement from previous years and the children and Coach Barnett must be commended for that.”
She added, “The school’s netball team also did well last season hence the donation of netballs and netball gear. This is one way to engage the youth through sport. Something which I will continue to do”.
Perry Barnett, Physical Education teacher at St Bartholomew, commended Gilding-Bourne for following through with her promise, while principal Althea Gill also offered her thanks for the donation. (PR)
