Swearing-in ceremony for Cabinet ministers and MPs on Monday

The Swearing-in Ceremony for members of Cabinet and Parliamentarians will be held on February 16 at CARIFESTA House, Waterford, St Michael.

The ceremony, scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., will see officials take their Oaths of Office before the President of Barbados, His Excellency Lieutenant Colonel The Most Honourable Jeffrey Bostic.

The Barbados Police Service has advised that to facilitate the event, traffic in the surrounding areas will be fluid between 6 a.m. and noon. Road users are encouraged to use alternate routes and expect some delays.

Motorists travelling from Hothersal Turning, Lears, and surrounding areas heading in the direction of Bridgetown are encouraged to use the ABC Highway via The Belle and access the My Lord’s Hill exit, rather than travelling via Waterford Bottom, unless they have specific business in that area.

The public is also advised that Combermere School will remain open. Parents and guardians will have full access to the area to drop off their children and wards.

Police officers will be on duty at strategic points to assist with the traffic flow and provide guidance to motorists.

The Barbados Police Service and the Government of Barbados apologise for any inconvenience these traffic changes may cause. (BGIS)
