Teenager charged with firearm and traffic offences

Seventeen-year-old Kimani Keshon Smith-Wooding of Harts Gap, Christ Church, has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of offences allegedly committed on Friday, June 27.

According to police, Smith-Wooding was apprehended by members of the Barbados Police Service’s Tactical Response Unit (TRU) while in the Harts Gap area. He has been charged with possession of a firearm, possession of four rounds of ammunition, driving without a licence, and driving without third-party insurance.

Smith-Wooding appeared before Magistrate Manilla Renee in the District ‘A’ Criminal Court No. 2 on Tuesday, July 1.

He pleaded not guilty to the traffic-related charges and was not required to enter a plea to the firearm and ammunition charges.

He has been remanded to Dodds Prison until July 29, 2025.
