For the first time in Barbados’ judicial history yesterday, 15 jurors were selected to sit on a murder trial.
It came as a suite of amendments to the Jurors Act came into play as the first murder trial under the new dispensation got off the ground in the No. 3 Supreme Court.
The move was given the thumbs up by the two attorneys in the case.
Adrian Ryan Jones, of Enterprise Main Road, Christ Church, and Jamal Omar Anthony Maynard, of St Paul’s Avenue, Bayville, St Michael, were arraigned with murdering 20-year-old Shae Hackett, formerly of Dunlow Lane, Bay Street, St Michael, on September 6, 2021.
