There will be no vehicle tint testing across the island today, but motorists will get another chance from tomorrow, Monday, August 12, as authorities extend the exercise for an additional five days.
The decision comes after a huge public turnout last week, as many Barbadians rushed to find out if their vehicles meet the new tint regulations set to take effect on September 1.
Originally scheduled from August 7 to 10, the testing will now continue until Saturday, August 16, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., at the same 12 locations used last week.
These include Combermere School, Wildey Gymnasium, Queen’s College and Kensington Oval in St. Michael; Christ Church Foundation School and St. David’s Anglican Church carpark in Christ Church; Princess Margaret Secondary in St. Philip; Frederick Smith Secondary in St. James; St. George Secondary in St. George; Alexandra School in St. Peter; Welchman Hall Post Office in St. Thomas; and Grantley Adams Secondary in St. Joseph.
Officials stress that the process is quick, taking less than a minute per vehicle, so drivers are unlikely to face long waits.
