The 2025 edition of the Tipsy Music Festival kicked off with an electrifying start on Saturday, as hundreds of partygoers descended on Copacabana Beach Club for a day-one experience that delivered on every front—music, fashion, energy, and pure Caribbean soca spirit.
Patrons arrived ready to soak up the good weather and sweet sounds, and they were not disappointed. The event hit all the right notes with seamless production, a lively yet incident-free atmosphere, and a stellar cast of local performers that kept the crowd moving from start to finish.
Partygoers were entertained from start to finish.
Women dazzled in colourful beachwear, flaunting their curves and confidence, while the men opted for casual, cool and comfortable t-shirts and shorts. There was no room for stush behaviour; it was an all-out vibes session.
Deejays spun a near-perfect blend of dancehall and soca, with sets that kept the crowd hyped throughout the day. The police maintained a strong yet non-intrusive presence, ensuring the event remained safe and well managed as hundreds partied past sunset.
Around 6:30 p.m., the stage came alive. The performers brought fire, starting with newcomer Idea The Artist, who set the pace. He was followed by Mole De Chief, whose short but high-energy set quickly had the crowd chanting for more.
Then came Jordan English, who had fans singing word for word to hits like Brandy & Ice, Bad B, and Darkers.

The momentum kept building with Grateful Co, who serenaded the crowd with his smooth vocals on tracks such as When Last, Location, and Trouble. But it was the legendary duo Leadpipe and Saddis who brought the fireworks. As they emerged on stage, screams echoed across Bay Street.

Taking things way back to when they first emerged on the soca scene more than a decade ago, they performed crowd favourites including Ah Feeling, Condense, and Ben Up. The pair also turned up the tempo with more recent hits like My X and Brain Freeze, but the undeniable anthem of the night was Tek Charge on the 1212 Riddim. As the beat dropped, the crowd erupted, and the ladies could not contain their excitement, dancing wildly to the infectious hook.
The vibes extended well beyond the stage. Many patrons described the event as unmissable. Arrielle Belgrave, a loyal supporter of Tipsy, told Barbados TODAY that the vibes were unmatched—both at the beach and the All White edition and that’s what locks her in every year.
For Jeanie Graeme, it was her first time attending the beach party, and she was blown away. She said she had a blast as everything from the energy to the music was top-tier.
Sisters Yulanda Spencer from New Jersey and Katelyn Murray from Florida flew in to reconnect with family and made sure to attend Tipsy. “We’re big fans,” said Murray, while Spencer added that although they love dressing up for the All White party, the laid-back beach vibes were just as special.
Alicia Jones echoed similar sentiments, noting that the beach is the perfect place to lime with friends and enjoy the energy. Peter ‘Styles’ Jones agreed, saying the atmosphere was “infectious” and that he simply came to have a good time. (SZB)
