Two granted bail in separate assault cases

A man and a woman charged in separate assault cases have been granted bail and ordered to return to the District β€˜A’ Traffic Court later this year.

Shamar Che Andre Bostic, a 29-year-old labourer of Goddards Road, Carrington Village, St Michael, appeared before Magistrate Jared Richards and denied assaulting Larissa Hutson on August 1.

Prosecutor Station Sergeant Vernon Forde said that the two were not related and did not live in close proximity to one another, and therefore made no objection to bail.

Bostic was told to stay away from the complainant and was released on $3 000 bail.

Renee Aria Leacock, a 26-year-old customer service representative of Cane Hill Road, Eastly, St George, pleaded not guilty to assaulting Nathan Burrowes on August 3, causing him actual bodily harm.

There was no objection to bail, which was set at $2 500, with the condition that the accused stay away from the complainant.

Both cases return to court on October 28.
