Vincentian Jace Oswald Baptiste, who took advantage of Barbados’ free movement policy, could be sent back home after he was released into the custody of immigration officials by the District “A” Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Baptiste, a 20-year-old labourer, who was living at London Road, Brittons Hill, St Michael, was back in court yesterday after he had previously pleaded guilty to stealing a chain and a ring, belonging to Henry Thomas, on December 15, 2025.
An immigration official, who was present in court, revealed the self-confessed thief was “one of those Free Movement entries”.
The immigration officer said Baptiste would be taken back to the department and interviewed, and a decision would then be given by the Chief Immigration Officer.
