Vybz Kartel confirmed for Barbados show in April

Anticipation is at an all-time high as Adidja ‘Vybz Kartel’ Palmer’s first appearance in Barbados since his release from prison has been confirmed for 2025.

The Gaza Nation’s prayers have been answered, with the popular dancehall artiste set to perform on the island. This revelation was made during a launch hosted by Zulu Entertainment at the Limegrove Penthouse Friday night, including a personal video message from the performer.

Preceding the announcement of Kartel’s performance, Chief Operations Officer of Zulu Entertainment, Simon Cho, provided another exciting update, revealing that the Caribbean Music Festival will be returning to Farley Hill National Park on April 27, for its second edition.

“Next year, I am excited to say we will be doing two shows, instead of one for the Caribbean Music Festival. We will be adding an extra date to our festival lineup,” Cho said.

He encouraged those in attendance to mark their calendars for April 20.

To solidify the news, Vybz Kartel’s legal representative was present to sign the contract with Vibbian Fagan of Zulu Entertainment, reinforcing that this is no mere rumour.

Reflecting on the success of the inaugural Caribbean Music Festival, Cho expressed his gratitude.

“Thank you to each and every one of you for your unwavering support and enthusiasm. Your energy and passion made the event truly special, and I am thrilled to say that it was incident-free, allowing us to all enjoy the music, vibrant culture in a safe, welcoming environment,” he said.

Cho continued, “We have listened to your feedback, and I assure you that we are making changes to enhance your experience and to make it even better.” He concluded by urging everyone to “Let’s keep the spirit of Caribbean music alive.” (STT)
