West Indies went on a boundary-hitting spree as they rattled up a record 256-5 against Ireland in the third T20 International at the Bready Cricket Ground in Northern Ireland on Sunday.
It was the second highest score in West Indies history – just two runs short of the 258-5 against South Africa at Centurion in March 2023.
Evin Lewis was the star of the show with 91 off 44 balls which included seven fours and eight sixes. The left-hander shared an opening partnership of 122 off 65 balls with captain Shai Hope, who made 51 off 27 balls with four fours and four sixes.
Afterwards, Keacy Carty flourished with 49 not out off 22 balls – which included four boundaries and four sixes in an impressive debut. Romario Shepherd showed his tremendous power as he smashed three towering sixes in 19 off six balls. He added an amazing unbeaten stand of 37 off nine balls with Carty.
This was originally a three-match series but has been reduced to a one-off as the first two matches were rained off on Thursday and Saturday. (PS)
