A 27-year-old St Thomas man charged with wounding opted not to make any bail application in a Bridgetown court after admitting that he already has several similar cases pending.
Anthony Junior Bishop of Chapman Village went before the District ‘A’ Traffic Court, accused that on December 18, with intent to maim, disfigure or disable Omar Clarke, he wounded Clarke.
He was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which was read by Magistrate Alison Burke.
Objecting to Bishop’s release, Police Constable Cindy Greaves, who is the prosecutor in the matter, said that the injuries to the complainant, who remains hospitalised, were serious and that the alleged incident stemmed from an ongoing feud between the two.
Bishop, who was unrepresented, told the court that he was already on bail for three other wounding charges, and when asked if he had anything to say regarding a bail application, shook his head and replied: “No ma’am.”
Magistrate Burke remanded him until January 26, 2026.
