A Talking Point podcast returns for Season 2 in partnership with Barbados TODAY

After a successful debut season that celebrated Caribbean women storytellers, A Talking Point podcast is back this summer and teaming up with Barbados TODAY as its official media partner and distribution platform.

The partnership marks a major milestone for the podcast, aligning it with one of the region’s most prominent digital news outlets, known for its coverage of Caribbean culture and current affairs.

The business of entertainment

Produced by Thomas.A Public Relations, a boutique Caribbean PR agency based in Barbados, Season 2 will premiere on July 1 and run through August 12, under the theme The Business of Entertainment.

Set intentionally during the heart of Crop Over, this season will explore how the Caribbean can transition from a seasonal, informal entertainment model to a more structured, sustainable, and profitable creative industry.

Each episode will feature a mix of voices — from economists and finance managers to creatives, brand strategists, and foreign affairs officials — all examining how we shape, tell, and monetise our cultural story at scale.

Executive Director of Thomas.A Public Relations, Aprille Thomas, stated: “We’re very excited about this season, which looks at Crop Over through a strategic and business lens. It’s high time we formalise our entertainment sector from all angles, and the guests we’ve selected will help us unpack the business and economics behind moving our culture forward.”

Thomas noted that A Talking Point podcast was created to be that pocket guide and trusted voice for discussions like these, offering listeners both inspiration and insight into conversations shaping the Caribbean narrative.

Expanding regional reach

The partnership with Barbados TODAY offers an exciting expansion for the podcast’s reach and influence. With its strong regional presence and a history of covering Caribbean arts, entertainment, and culture, the platform is a natural fit to amplify the voices and ideas A Talking Point brings to the forefront.

Chief Executive Officer & Publisher at Barbados TODAY, Hermina Elcock, stated: “We’re pleased to be partnering with Thomas.A PR to bring this conversation to our audience, which includes Barbadians and extends to the rest of the region. Rich content like this aligns with our goals of diversifying our model while also highlighting the developments within our country.”

New episodes will be released every Tuesday, across Barbados TODAY’s digital platforms, including YouTube and Instagram.

Season 2 will feature seven episodes and promises to be insightful, inspirational, and a celebration of Caribbean culture. Follow @thomas.apr and @barbadostoday on Instagram to catch each new episode every Tuesday.
