The assurance has been provided that Kensington Oval will be in fit and proper shape when cricket returns to the historic venue.
So says Damien Gaskin, chairman of the board of Kensington Oval Management Inc. (KOMI), who yesterday sought to bring clarity to the situation as the iconic cricket ground prepares to host the much anticipated Barbados Reggae Weekend festival.
During the last 24 hours some sections of the cricket fraternity expressed their concerns over the placement of the massive stage close to the pitches and the configuration of the setup for the annual musical extravaganza which has been dubbed “premier reggae weekend in Barbados”.
“There have been concerns expressed but we just want to assure everyone that we have the right systems in place to ensure the pitches and the outfield are not affected.
