Kyrone Alexander led the way with 36 points and eight rebounds, as Barbados rallied following a slow start, to slam Haiti 91-68 in their second game of the FIBA Americup 2029 Caribbean Pre-qualifiers.
Playing at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in Guyana, Haiti led 27-21 after the opening quarter, but some adjustments from Barbados saw them fight back in the second period, to take a narrow 47-45 half time lead.
Barbados maintained their intensity in the third quarter, fighting their way to a 67-61 advantage, before blowing the game open in the final quarter, as Haiti only managed an additional seven points.
Along with Alexander’s efforts, Carl Thorpe added 20 points and Akeem Marsh 11.
Thursday’s result followed an 89-54 victory over the Cayman Islands on Wednesday. After a rest day on Friday, Barbados will resume Group B action with matches against Grenada on Saturday and St Vincent and the Grenadines on Sunday.
Only the group winners will advance to the next round of qualifying.
