A 43-year-old man has been placed on a one-year bond to keep the peace after sending threatening electronic messages to his former partner.
Nicholas Mohammed Ali Hassan of Friendship Terrace, St Michael will have to pay $1 000 within one week or spend three months at Dodds Prison if he breaches the bond.
The 43-year-old admitted before Magistrate Manila Renee in the No. 2 Court to using a computer to send an electronic communication to Micarla Archer which was threatening in character and intended to cause her annoyance, inconvenience, distress and anxiety between April 1 and May 18.
The complainant told the court that after they broke up following a few months of dating, Hassan began messaging her asking to get back together, but she refused. In response, he sent a message threatening to harm her, which she reported to the police.
