The circumstances surrounding how a St Philip man was found in possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition will be outlined in the Supreme Court next week before sentencing.
During his arraignment before Justice Pamela Beckles in the No. 5 Supreme Court, Anthony Sylvester Mayers of Gemswick pleaded guilty to having a firearm without a valid licence and four rounds of ammunition without a valid permit on October 4, 2024.
Senior Counsel Angella Mitchell-Gittens, who represents Mayers, waived a pre-sentence report.
Justice Beckles adjourned the case until July 2, for State Counsel Maya Kellman to present the facts and for sentencing submissions to be made by the prosecution and defence.
