A man who had been living at the old Gall Hill Library in St John was removed from the property earlier today following intervention by authorities.
The site had been the subject of ongoing concern, with the yard cluttered with debris and other items as the man occupied the premises.

Member of Parliament Charles Griffith said the action came after months of complaints from residents about the condition of the property and disturbances in the area.

He confirmed that the man was taken to the Psychiatric Hospital by police after his behaviour escalated.
Griffith also thanked the Barbados Police Service, Environmental Health and the Sanitation Service Authority for their coordinated response in addressing the situation.
He acknowledged residents for continuing to raise concerns and bringing attention to the issue.
