A morning accident at Roberts Road, Haggatt Hall, St Michael, resulted in a gas leak and prompted an emergency response.
Fire Officer 250 Ramsey said the Barbados Fire Service responded around 7:35 a.m. after receiving a call about a special service incident involving two vehicles.
“On arrival, we saw two vehicles had been involved, and one of the vehicles was on top of a gas meter, so the gas was escaping,” he said.
The National Petroleum Corporation (NPC) was called in to deal with the leaking gas, while ambulance personnel attended to the injured.
A resident whose property was impacted said the vehicle crashed into his gate and damaged a van parked at the home.

“I heard a loud bang… the vehicle… ran into my gate and also damaged my van,” Reverend Byron Waithe said, adding that occupants were asked to evacuate while emergency crews worked to make the area safe.
He also praised the response from emergency personnel, noting that both fire and gas officials arrived quickly to manage the situation.
The scene was later secured as authorities carried out their assessments.
