The rape trial of a St Philip man is scheduled to begin next month in the Supreme Court.
Keith Eric Eversley, now 68, of Oak Leaf Villa, Mangrove Plantation, has denied having sexual intercourse with a woman without her consent, knowing she did not consent or was reckless as to whether she consented on February 16, 2019.
During his reappearance in the No. 4 Supreme Court, Eversley informed the court that his attorney was Kenneth Best but was absent due to illness.
State Counsel Paul Prescod, who is prosecuting along with Acting Director of Public Prosecutions Alliston Seale SC, informed the court that the complainant had indicated that she was proceeding with the matter.
Justice Laurie-Anne Smith-Bovell then told the accused that his trial was set for June 8 and to ensure that his counsel was prepared for that date.
